Henri Cartier-Bresson is credited with the idea of the decisive moment, and I think Eddie Gonzalez nailed his decisive moment with this week’s critique.

The decisive moment is typically associated with street photography, but what makes Eddie’s photo so decisive is that it exists at all.

Eddie is a night custodian at a high school and it was while working that he took his photo.

That might not seem remarkable, but it is.

Think about it. How many days have you gone without noticing the hundreds of possible photos you could take?

I’m certainly as guilty of it as anyone else, but for this photo, on this day, Eddie noticed this moment, and he captured it.

Watch the video to find out why I love this photo so much!
